Information We Collect
To provide our services, we collect the following personal information:
- Name (First and Last): To identify you within the service.
- Email Address: For account creation, authentication, and essential communication.
- Phone Number: As an optional contact method for other users.
- Street Address: To calculate your location and show you nearby talents. If you only browse, your address is never shown to other users. If you create a talent listing, your street name is shown with your name, and your street number and unit number stay private unless you choose to share them.
- Business Name (Optional): For users who operate as a talent.
- Website and Social Links (Optional): Provided by talents to showcase their services and online presence.
- Profile Photo (Optional): Talents can choose to upload a photo, which is shown on their talent profile. Other users can also add a photo to their account, but it is never shown to other users.
- Ratings and Reviews (Optional): If you rate or review a talent, we collect your rating and comment. They are shown to other users with your first name, the first letter of your last name, and when the review was posted.
Nearby does not collect or process any payment or financial information, as all transactions occur offline between users and talents.
How We Use Your Information
Your information is used exclusively to:
- Create and manage your account.
- Display relevant talents and services within your preferred neighbourhood radius.
- Provide access to talents' contact information for offline communication.
- Send important service-related notifications.
Information Visibility & Control
You have granular control over your information's visibility. By default, your personal contact information is private. You can choose to make parts of your information visible to other users, including:
- Your contact email address.
- Your phone number.
- Your apartment or unit number.
- Your street number.
Your first name, last name, and street name are the minimum information visible to other users in your radius if you are listed as a talent.
Please note that most communications and transactions between users and talents occur outside the Nearby app (such as by phone or email). You are responsible for the information you share during those interactions.
Data Sharing with Third Parties
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We only share limited data with essential third-party service providers as necessary to operate and maintain core app functionality — including, but not limited to, cloud hosting, authentication, and communication services (such as Google Firebase and Brevo).
These providers are bound by their own privacy policies and data protection obligations to safeguard your information and may only process it on our behalf for legitimate operational purposes.
Location data is processed solely to provide proximity-based features within the app and is not shared with any external mapping or advertising providers.
Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, modification, or disclosure.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access and review your personal information.
- Update your information and modify your visibility settings at any time through your profile.
- Delete your account, which will permanently remove your personal data from our active systems.
- You may also report any misuse, data concerns, or inappropriate behavior through the in-app Feedback & Reporting tool.
Account Deletion
You can permanently delete your Nearby account at any time directly from within the app.
To delete your account:
- Open the Nearby app.
- Navigate to My Profile → Name & Password.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm your choice.
Once confirmed, your account and all associated data — including your name, email, and profile photo — will be permanently deleted from our systems. This process is irreversible.
We do not retain any personal data after account deletion, except where required by law (for example, for fraud prevention or accounting compliance). Any such retained data is stored securely and automatically deleted after the applicable retention period.

Children's Privacy
Our service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes. Continued use of the app after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new policy.
